After doing some Google-ing (have we made that an official word yet?) for online portfolio and journaling options, I just kept coming back to blogs. Blogging platforms like Wordpress and Blogger really have got it all figured out. Especially when it comes to publishing on the go (like, say, on an iPad?). I've had blogs for years, not saying I've kept up with blogs for years, but I've had them. I've even posted a few dozen times, and if I can do it, you can too. I promise. Now, each time I go through this process, I learn how to get fancier and fancier, but really it is very easy to keep a simple blog with text, location mapping and of course, pictures. Here I will take you through the step-by-step (I wonder how many years it will take for the NKOTB song to NOT jump into my head when I read/write/say/hear "step-by-step") process for creating, editing, and publishing your Blogger blog. I chose Blogger because with Google it seems to be the easiest to connect with each other. Very simple to follow a blog and keep up with everyone in our special TQ group.
Now, first step is to create your Blogger account. To do this, you have to have a Google account (or quickly create one). Start by going to
Blogger and either log in with your Google account or click the link to create one.
Once you've logged in, you will go directly to your Blogger Dashboard (homebase, start page, whatever you want to call it . . . it's basically your blog command center) You can see my blog is already listed . . . that will not be the case for you ;) Click on "Create a Blog" to start your brand spankin' new blog.
The next steps are SO easy! Name your blog, choose your URL (webpage name) and enter the impossible to read identification code.
This part is fun! Choose how pretty (handsome?) you want your blog to be . . .
And you're done!
And ready to post.
Seriously. . . that's it. You've created your blog. Now, for further instructions see my other posts.
